ANIMALE WINERY

The very smallest of the Small-Lot family of wineries, ANIMALE is a unique micro-producer operating out of a 600-square foot Ballard (Seattle) basement. Winemaker Matt Gubitosa hand-produces a total of 200 cases unusual and distinctive wines each vintage. Using family-farmed fruit from cooler growing sites (allowing longer 'hang-time' for the fruit), and never employing industrial processing methods (such as filtration or fining), ANIMALE produces wines that are true to both varietal character and to the place where they are grown. Complexity, texture and intensity are the rule for these wines. ANIMALE wines have been the subject of favorable reviews in the Seattle Times, Wine and Spirits Magazine, Wine Press Northwest, Robert M. Parker Jr.'s Wine Advocate, and even a few wine blogs.

ELEVEN WINERY

Eleven Winery is the husband-and-wife team of Matt and Sarah Albee. Our son Cole, 6, holds the position of Chief Hinderer, ably assisted by his little brother, Cameron. We are also supported by a cadre of tireless volunteers, without whom all would be lost. Winery development began in 2003, although the story begins several years before that. The winery was licensed and bonded, the space converted, equipment purchased, vineyards sought, courted, and contracted, and we had our first crush in the fall of 2003. We survived, and bounced back stronger than ever, ready to take on the Chateau Ste. Mechanization's and Clos du Mediocrity's of the world. Our first bottling (of white wines) took place in May 2004, and our first bottling of reds took place in 2005.

GOEDHART FAMILY

The philosophy of Goedhart Family is to make one wine and make it well. We focus our efforts on the production of a Syrah from the Red Mountain AVA, specifically Bel’ Villa Vineyard. The two most important factors to our winemaking style are tradition and the concept of terroir.

KANA WINERY

Kana is a native word for the spirit or the fire within a mountain, in reference to the perceived supernatural power of volcanic activity. The Yakima and Columbia Valleys are awash with volcanic soil influences, providing terroir from the millennia of "Kana" escaping from nearby volcanic mountains, to lay resting as soil for our world-class vineyards. Kana Winery wines are the result of the careful selection of fruit from the very best vineyards, with emphasis on Rhone varietals along with specially selected wines from single vineyards that express a sense of "place". Taking the magic from the vineyard to your table is Kana Winery's mission, which, combined with our passion for winemaking excellence, we hope will enrich your lives and your dining experience.

They invite you to stop by their tasting room in the historic Dacres Building, on the corner of Main and Fourth streets. OBELISCO ESTATE

Obelisco Estate is a small, 30 acre vineyard located on the southwest slope of Red Mountain. Its name venerates the tall, narrow, four-sided obelisks that were carved out of solid granite by exceptional craftsmen as early as 2000 BC. In much the same way, this wine has been carved out of Red Mountain terroir.

WILLIS HALL WINERY

Willis Hall winery owner John Bell – named "Best New Winemaker in Washington" by Seattle Magazine in 2006 – crafts his wines in the traditional, old-world method. John Bell developed an interest in wine appreciation. Pursuing all avenues to learn about wines for over 15 years, he determined that further learning could come about only by his actually making wine. As a Boeing employee, John availed himself of the opportunity to join the Boeing Wine Club, giving him access to the accumulated experience of fellow members, some of whom had started commercial wineries, as well as access to some of the most highly regarded vineyards in Washington State. 2003 was John's inaugural vintage.
