BOTTLE SHOCKED

August 16th, 2009

As summer comes to an end, we can’t think of a better way for you to enjoy a Sunday afternoon than to hang out with us (and some of our closest friends). So, on August 16th Small Lot Co-Op(that’s us), WINO Magazine and the Fremont Outdoor Movies, will offer for your enjoyment a “tasting” from our winery members. The lineup will range from Bainbridge to Walla Walla - in a format that will walk you (from Attack to Mid-Palate to Finish) through the AVAs, Vineyards and Varietals of Washington State as interpreted by our winemakers.

So round up some friends, family members, neighbors or some random passerby and get shocked (by what Washington Wineries are doing) and stay for the movie “Bottle Shock”.

For those of you have not seen it, the movie celebrates the story behind the 1976 Judgment of Paris where a blind taste test overturned the French wine culture’s world dominance – Laissez le bon temps en rouleau.

Add some of the best local artisan cheeses and our own world class Theo Organic Chocolates, and we have a somewhat seriously delightful, if not surprisingly tasteful event topped off by a charming movie.

Oh Yeah, and we will have some surprises for you (could be new releases, could be verticals, could be new wineries, could be ????).

Worthwhile Facts:

  • Doors open at 5:30pm.
  • Tasting Event begins 6pm
  • Tickets are $40 - includes (at least) 20 tastings, complimented with the above mentioned cheeses and chocolates, giveaways and more - are available at the gate (cash only) or online
  • Venue Address: 3501 Phinney, Seattle WA

Not as pertinent but still worthwhile facts:

  • All of the companies directly involved in the event are Washington State businesses – employing over 100 of your neighbors. THANK YOU for the support.
  • Darren Des Voigne, of Des Voigne Cellars, spells his name wrong – ask him about it during the event.
  • We will do our best to get you home early – no promises though – it depends on how quickly potential energy is converted to kinetic
  • Puzzled by the point above – ask John Bell of Willis Hall, he’s an engineer and race car driver, so he has to know.
